This blog is a canvas with all of my art pieces posted on it, along with the meaning of each individual piece and what it symbolizes to me. Every picture can have a different meaning, it just depends on the person themselves & how you interpret it.

Halloween theme collage

In this collage, i choose to make the theme a halloween theme by choosing a scary setting, and then finding pictures that well suit this scary setting. It's not a realistic collage since there are cartoons included, but i feel that it gives more of a variety rather than just having a vampire or something of that nature. The characters from the shows/ movies I used in my collage are characters from The Simpsons, South Park and Charlie Brown. As for movies, the movies I used were The Grudge and Halloween. All of the familiar characters are what makes the picture complete and fun to look at.

Collage - About Me

This is a collage I made using iPhoto to edit the photo and Fireworks application to make the collage itself. Using fireworks, I cut and rotated the images to make them look good. There are pictures of things that represent myself, first is my picture with my name. There are my favorite music artists like Wiz Khalifa and Eminem, and there are things to represent the different genres I enjoy to listen to. There are also pictures of my interests and what television program I like to watch. This is basically a "About Me" collage.

Quick Sketch – James Franco

This is a picture of James Franco I sketched with a No.2 pencil. It took about 20 minutes to sketch and shade in. I started off with a basic “head” shape with two crossing lines to align the nose. eyes and mouth on his face. I shaded in his hair and used a wavy shape to make his hair look more realistic like its sticking out. I also shaded in his facial hair in a lighter shade to create more of a dynamic.  Last but not least, wrinkles. I drew in some of his many distinct wrinkles.  When drawing wrinkles you have to proportion them right or else they may look awkward on the person’s face, or you might make them look “too old”.

Realisitc - Wildlife

Baby leopard with it's mother.

This piece was a school assignment where we had to choose an any animal from a magazine to sketch. I choose a picture of a mother Leopard with her child by her side. For myself, this image represents the love and care for others, like your loved-ones and friends. Personally, I really like animal print of various of animals, like cheetah, leopard, zebra, and whatever else you can think of. So this picture was really good for that because it met my needs in what I wanted as my image to sketch. Before sketching the image, I folded the originally image into a grid and did the same to my canvas paper. After having a grid on both papers, I carefully drew what I saw in each box. I did this to make sure I had the correct proportions so it looked more realistic. Then, after that, I  mixed pastels and colored what I saw,  making new shades and creating different textures to give off a realistic look to it. An example of textures I made, were the texture of the fur, creating shadows and different shades.
